Our discovery rangers will be running programs in Tasman National Park and several of the surrounding reserves on the Tasman Peninsula this summer. There will be activities to suit all ages, so come along and be a part of the summer fun.
Saturday 25 January
4.00pm: Tasman Feast at Nubeena (3hrs)
Look for the Parks and Wildlife Tasmania stand at the Tasman Feast
Learn something new or surprising about the natural world of the Tasman Peninsula and things you can do to help your local biodiversity.
Sunday 26 January
9.00am Bird Walk at Fortescue Bay (1hr)
Meet by the Fortescue Bay day shelter
Walk around the lagoon and learn about some of Tasmania’s unique and fascinating birds. How many will you spot on a stroll through the forest?
11.00am Here Be Dragons! at Fortescue Bay (1.5hrs)
Meet by the Fortescue Bay day shelter
Learn about weedy seadragons, one of Tasmania’s unique underwater wonders and create natural artwork.
2.00pm Beachcombing & Rockpool Rambling at Fortescue Bay (2hrs)
Meet by the Fortescue Bay day shelter
A hands-on chance to explore the fascinating and unique marine life of Tasmania and the threats posed by introduced species.
Monday 27 January
10.00am Shorebirds & More at White Beach (1.5hrs)
Meet at Day Use Area opposite 221 White Beach Road
Come and explore the beach for signs of Tasmania’s amazing shorebirds and other wildlife. Learn how we can all share the beach this Summer.
2.30pm Rockpool Rambling at Tessellated Pavement (2hrs)
Meet at Tessellated Pavement Carpark
A hands-on chance to explore the fascinating and unique marine life of Tasmania and the threats posed by introduced species.
