New car park for Ben Lomond National Park

28/06/2019

A new visitor carpark is now complete at Ben Lomond National Park. The car park will be opened to visitors and fully operational in the coming weeks in time for this winter’s first major snow fall.

The car park at the base of the mountain below Jacob’s ladder, was funded under the Improving Statewide Visitor Infrastructure Program. The works cost approximately $400K and were built by local company – Gradco Pty Ltd.

The car park provides capacity for around 90 vehicles and an area for a shuttle bus service to operate and safely  transport visitors to the summit in snow conditions.

This new facility will allow visitors to park in a safe location while waiting for the snow shuttle. The new carpark relieves traffic congestion and the future addition of a toilet and shelter will provide improved amenitites for those waiting for transit to the ski fields.
