Background: A number of fires were ignited by dry lightning that crossed the state in late December 2018 and mid-January 2019. The storms of 15 January 2019 resulted in approximately 2,400 lightning strikes and caused over 60 new ignitions.More

Additional track closures announced by PWS in the Rosebery area

PWS advise the following tracks have now been closed until further notice due to the high fire risk around the Rosebery fire.


  • Lake Sandra Track
  • Mount Dundas Track
  • Mount Farrell Summit Track
  • Lake Spicer 4WD Track
  • Lake Tyndall Track
  • Montezuma Falls Track
  • Lake Johnston Walking Track/ Lake Johnston Access Road
  • Mt Zeehan Track

  • Stirling Valley Track (Tullah to Rosebery) Mountain Bike Trail
  • Zeehaan Henskirk Loop Mountain Bike Trail


Fires under hot, dry and windy conditions can travel very fast so it’s important for everyone to stay informed in case conditions change.
