MT ROLAND FIRE
A fire at Mt Roland that began earlier this week has burnt 150 hectares and remains uncontained. Walking tracks in the Mt Roland Conservation Area and Regional Reserve remain closed until further notice. For advice on track closures walkers are advised to call the Parks and Wildlife Service on 6492 1133.
The walking tracks will remain closed for at least another week and possibly for some time after the fire is contained, until a hazardous tree assessment can be carried out and any work required undertaken.
Residents who require information on the fire are advised to call the Incident Control Centre on 6491 2885.

SNUG TIERS
The public are requested not to enter the Snug Tiers Nature Recreation Area until further notice due to a bushfire which began earlier this week and has burnt 113 hectares. Vehicle tracks have been signposted to that effect. This includes the main access at the end of Van Morey Road from Margate. The source of the fire is being investigated by a Tasmania Fire Services fire investigator.
Access to the reserve will be re-assessed early next week.

Further information on these fires can be found on the Tasmania Fire Service website at www.fire.tas.gov.au.
