Temporary closure of Mersey River suspension bridge for maintenance


The Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) will this week begin a program of significant maintenance work on the Mersey River suspension bridge which is used to access the Lees Paddocks walking track within the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.

Work on the suspension bridge will commence on 6 February 2014 and is expected to be completed by 12 March 2014. During this time, the bridge will be closed to public access daily between the hours of 9am to 4pm.

Walkers will be able to use the bridge outside of the closure times or use alternative access points. For further information regarding the planned works and closure please contact the (PWS) Great Western Tiers senior ranger on 6363 5133.
