Pieman Heads to Ahrberg Bay area temporarily closed due to bushfire - update

18/03/2013

Users of the area between Pieman Head and Ahrberg Bay are advised that this area is closed to the general public until further notice due to the bushfire and fire operations in the area. The tracks remain open to shack owners. However, the bridges over Violet Rivulet and Websters Creek have sustained fire damage, are impassable and are closed. The only vehicular access to the shack community is via the beach around Hardwicke Point and therefore possibly tide dependent.

Check the Tasmania Fire Service website for updates at http://www.fire.tas.gov.au/Show?pageId=colCurrentBushfires where this fire is listed as Pieman Head, West Coast.
