Maria Island access

The Parks and Wildlife Service wishes to advise that the Maria Island Ferry and Eco Cruises will not be operating its ferry service to Maria Island during the period 23rd June to 14 July, 2009.

Parks and Wildlife Service general manager Peter Mooney said that it has been normal practice for Maria ferry operators to utilise the quiet winter period to undertake annual ferry maintenance.

"We would like to emphasise that the island remains open during this period when the ferry is not running. Alternate methods of access are available including boat and light aircraft charter services as well as by private vessel," Mr Mooney said.
