Threatened Species Kit

This resource, specifically designed for school students, provides details on some of Tasmania's Threatened Species, as well as information on what determines whether a species is classed as vulnerable, endangered, extinct or rare.

Introduction
This resource has been created to provide specific information on some of Tasmania's threatened species.

Threatened Mammals
Information on the Eastern quoll, Eastern barred bandicoot, the Tasmanian tiger, Southern right whale, New Zealand fur seal and New Holland mouse.

Threatened Birds
Information on the Orange-bellied and Swift parrots, Forty spotted paratote, Little tern, Wedge-tailed eagle and Shy albatross.

Threatened Reptiles, Amphibians and Fish
Information on the Pedra Branca skink, Green and gold frog, Spotted handfish, Pedder and Swan galaxias.

Threatened Invertebrates
Information on the Native pasture looper moth, Pencil pine moth, Giant freshwater lobster, Broad-toothed stag beetle plus others.

Information on the Fluffy groundsel, Native Wintercress, Morrisbys gum, Bearded heath, Kings lomatia and many others.
