The Parks and Wildlife Service appreciates the assistance provided by hundreds of volunteers and a large number of volunteer organisations all around Tasmania. With over 50% of the State protected and cared for in reserves we can't do everything that is needed on our own. Our volunteers and their organisations contribute time valued in excess of $5 million each year to reserve management projects. Our community volunteer partners also contribute annually hundreds of thousands of dollars to projects, raised through grants sponsorship, donation and grants. These projects will be completed in partnership with the Parks and Wildlife Service. In addition to the effort, hours and funding that volunteers contribute, we enjoy working cooperatively with the Tasmanian community and others. We invite you to consider becoming a volunteer with us. There is a variety of ways that you can be involved.
Friends groups and local volunteers
Are you interested in supporting a particular national park or reserve? Or getting involved in one of the many volunteer programs undertaken by local volunteers?
Check out the Friends groups, projects and programs offered through WILDCARE Inc, our primary local volunteer management partner. You can join any of the WILDCARE Friends groups or simply register as an individual volunteer. WILDCARE Inc will contact you when volunteer opportunities that match your interests arise. WILDCARE members receive a range of benefits including a $25 discount on the purchase of an Annual Park Pass.
Other Volunteer Partners
