Tour information​

Entrance to the caves is by tour only. Bookings can be made 14 days prior and are strongly recommended see Tour times below.

The Underground Rivers and Glow Worms Tour of Marakoopa Cave highlights the sparkling crystals, reflective pools, stalactites and stalagmites of the lower chamber. Take time to listen to the music of underground creeks and soak up the silence of abandoned river passages. This easy tour caters for all age groups and levels of fitness.

The Great Cathedral and Glow Worms Tour of Marakoopa Cave Tour requires medium fitness to ascend the stairway. Delicate formations and beautiful colours are a feature as you climb into the Cathedral chamber itself, where voices are amplified by the amazing natural acoustics.​

The King Solomons Cave Tour is suitable for all age groups and levels of fitness. This cave features lavish colours and formations, with sparkling calcite decorating the chambers.

Tripods, food and beverages are not permitted in the caves. Photography (including use of flash) is allowed except in the glow worm chamber at Marakoopa Cave.

Tour times and prices

Caves tours are available every day except Christmas Day. The tours run for 45 minutes and are offered daily with additional tours available in peak visitor periods.

Bookings are strongly recommended and can be made from 9am-3pm 14 days prior to your tour. To book phone (03) 6363 5182.

Tickets for the King Solomons Cave and the two tours at Marakoopa Cave are available from the central office at 330 Mayberry Road, Mayberry about 600 metres before the entrance to Marakoopa Cave. Eftpos, Visa, Mastercard and cash are accepted. ​

  • Children (4-17 years) - $9.50
  • Under 4 years - free
  • Concession (seniors, Australian pensioner and Healthcare Card holders) - $15.50
  • Family (2 adults, 3 children) - $47.50
Visitors to the Mole Creek Karst National Park do not require a Parks Pass to tour the caves. However, a pass is required to explore other areas of the park. 

Marakoopa Cave - tour times

Underground Rivers and Glow Worms Tour: Daily at 10am, 12pm and 2pm.

Additional tours are offered at 4pm from 1 October to May 31.

Great Cathedral and Glow Worms Tour: Daily at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

King Solomons Cave - tour times 

Tours depart daily at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm. 

Additional tours are offered at 10.30am and 4.30pm from December 1 to April 30.

Allow at least 15 minutes to travel the 11 km between the caves.
