About

This multi-day walk requires a two night stay at Frenchs Farm or Encampment Cove. Follow the track from Frenchs Farm before continuing along the sandy beaches of McRaes Isthmus. The long, winding track takes you through woodland forest down Maria Island's west coast to Robeys Farm.

Remember, the isthmus is slow going as the sand makes walking and riding considerably more difficult. The road is rough in parts with soft sandy patches. This long walk takes you to a small farm tucked into the hillside.

You'll see remains of the farm set up by Viv and Hilda Robey in the 1920s. They lived a simple subsistence life on the land in this peaceful spot.
