About

Winding four kilometres through coastal heath and woodland, this track links Ranger Creek with the start of the Wineglass Bay and Freycinet Peninsula walking tracks. This safe path offers views that you'll miss if you travel by road.

An experience in its own right, the gentle gradient of this track proves a welcome opportunity for those not wanting a steep climb. You will be rewarded with unique views of the lower reaches of Mount Baudin, Mount Dove and Mount Amos - all part of the boulder-studded range known as The Hazards.

Beginning just south of the Freycinet Visitor Centre, you may choose to take a side route along the way to explore Honeymoon Bay. Small rises provide stunning views over the glistening waters of Coles Bay.

From Honeymoon Bay continue through the pretty coastal eucalypt forest to arrive at the start of the Freycinet Peninsula walks where you will be not far from the Walking Tracks Car Park and toilet facilities.

This low-speed, shared track is two way and cyclists must give way to walkers. The journey can be enjoyed from both directions.

Please note this is the only walking track in the park where bikes are permitted.

You'll be crossing roads

Please be aware there are road crossings. Walkers and cyclists are asked to abide by the signs, to STOP and Give Way to vehicles on the roads.  Children are to dismount before crossing roads. This path is two way and you will need to keep to the left.

Cyclists need to give way to walkers.
