About

An undulating walk through lush regenerating rainforest. The Summit Mine is the first stop with a birds' eye view of the old tin mine. Take a short 2 minute detour to the Bull Wheel, that was at the top of the aerial haulage.

The walk continues gently to the top of Australia Hill, where you'll find excellent views of the farmland and forested valley towards Weldborough and Pyengana. Amongst the forest you may be able to see the tops of Tasmania's tallest trees - Eucaylptus regnans or Swamp gums.

Enjoy the return journey past Compere Mine and back along one of the old pack tracks to Poimena car park.

If you would like to see the magnificent and towering eucalyptus giants up close, go to the Blue Tier Giant Walk, which can be accessed from Lottah Road (around 8km away).
