Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen Revitalisation Project

Tasman Arch, in the Tasman National Park, is a world class visitor site. You can see amazing rock formations and beautiful ocean views. You can go on walks and explore nature. And there are some helpful facilities, all in a quiet and natural setting.

This project follows on from Stage 1 of the Tasman Gateway Project. This stage was completed in 2022 and included

  • new public toilets

  • an upgraded car park

  • a dedicated bus layby area​

$1.65m has been allocated for Stage 2 of the Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen Revitalisation Project which will improve access and experience at the site. Key features of this project will:​

  • Provide track and viewing upgrades and minor track changes. These will provide a safer and more accessible experience for all visitors.​

  • Increase access to the site for people with disability

  • ​Provide better scenic views.

Planning and Approvals

We have undertaken assessments, studies and surveys. These are used to identify and protect environmental and cultural values and help with the design process.  ​

Timelines 

Following the completion of approvals processes and ​detailed design in 2025, works are expected to start on site in Autumn 2026. This is subject to procurement processes and contractor availability.

Temporary Access Changes

Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen will be closed to visitors during construction. More information and alerts will be provided before construction starts.

Access to the Waterfall Bay Track from Devils Kitchen will also be closed during construction. Entry will remain open from Waterfall Bay Road. ​
