Nut State Reserve Infrastructure Projects

​​The Nut State Reserve in Stanley attracts approximately 50,000 visitors each year. 

In 2024 $1.8 million of funding was committed to improving the visitor experience at The Nut State Reserve. This inludes key infrastructure improvements that support: 

  • better accessibility 

  • improve safety for visitors and locals

Project Overview

The following projects are being delivered by the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS):

  • walking track from Godfrey’s Beach to the base of The Nut

  • all access track linking The Nut carpark to the sandstone obelisk at the base of The Nut

  • new cantilever viewing platform on The Nut

  • investigating the feasibility of a walking track from The Nut carpark to the wharf precinct

  • review of interpretation and wayfinding signage in The Nut State Reserve

Timeframes​

The individual projects will be completed progressively over the four years. All projects are expected to be completed by 2028.
