The Nut State Reserve in Stanley attracts approximately 50,000 visitors each year.
In 2024 $1.8 million of funding was committed to improving the visitor experience at The Nut State Reserve. This inludes key infrastructure improvements that support:
Project Overview
The following projects are being delivered by the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS):
walking track from Godfrey’s Beach to the base of The Nut
all access track linking The Nut carpark to the sandstone obelisk at the base of The Nut
new cantilever viewing platform on The Nut
investigating the feasibility of a walking track from The Nut carpark to the wharf precinct
review of interpretation and wayfinding signage in The Nut State Reserve

Timeframes
The individual projects will be completed progressively over the four years. All projects are expected to be completed by 2028.
