Visitors and locals will be able to get to the site either by driving on a sealed road (Airey Drive) or walking along a dedicated footpath. A new carpark will be clearly marked and will include spaces for people with disabilities and long vehicles. A roundabout will make it easy and safe for cars to turn around and leave.

Toilets will be available at the entrance. From there, a short walk up a hill along a footpath leads to the top of a sand dune, where visitors will get their first view of the Indian Ocean, Arthur River, and Australia Rock. There will also be a minor access road for service vehicles and disabled carparks.

At this first lookout point, there will be a shelter with picnic tables, barbeques, and information displays—all designed to be accessible.

From the shelter, two paths will lead further into the site:

  • An accessible path that winds through coastal plants and offers views of the Edge of the World. This path will include places to sit, look out over the scenery, and learn from interpretive signs. It will also provide access to the river’s edge.

  • A walking track that follows the current road.

A replacement walkway will lead to a new viewing platform on the rocky headland (Gardiner Point), where people can experience the dramatic West Coast. The platform will have seating and be accessible for people using wheelchairs, mobility aids or prams.

Visitors can return to the carpark using the same path or take a different return walking track that heads south along the coast, offering stunning views.

New infrastructure will be designed to blend into the natural landscape and use materials that reflect the coastal environment. The site’s design—including the environment, facilities, signs, and artwork—will create a rich experience that celebrates the deep Aboriginal cultural history and local community connections.
