In 2024, the Tasmanian Government committed to developing unique experiences in the Dial Range Reserves near Penguin. Creating loop walks that provide a range of experiences for visitors from key trailheads is a priority. The loop walks will offer a variety of:

$1.6 million is available to develop the loop walks and other unique experiences in the Dial Range Reserves including:
Mt Montgomery loop waking track
All access boardwalk at Ferndene State Reserve
Mt Dial to Mt Gnomon circuit walking track
Resealing Mt Gnomon carpark

Timeframes
The individual projects will be completed progressively over the four years. All projects are expected to be completed by 2028.
