Thirty-two PWS personnel, consisting of firefighters, advanced tree fallers and incident management staff, were deployed to Victoria with the remaining six deployed to assist in Western Australia.
PWS State Fire Manager Katy Edwards said the deployments were part of Australia’s national resource sharing framework, coordinated through the National Resource Sharing Centre.

“This arrangement ensures emergency services across the country can bolster one another during major incidents, strengthening response capacity when it’s needed most,” Ms Edwards said.
“Tasmania’s support for the operations in Victoria and Western Australia showcases this coordinated national effort which is the same support Tasmania can rely on when our own communities face challenging conditions.”
