New walking track turns up the dial in the North-West

A new walking track connecting Mount Montgomery to Mount Dial has been completed, offering new and different walking experiences for visitors.

Work started on the loop walking track earlier this year as part of the strategic management and improvement of walking tracks in the Dial Range.

The new loop walking track consists of two kilometres of new tracks with a 15-metre aluminium truss bridge over Keddies Creek. Existing track sections were aligned to create the loop, also allowing for greater separation from the mountain bikes. Signage is being installed to show directions for visitors.

During the works vegetation clearing was kept to a minimum, and the natural surface and rocks from the area have been used to assist drainage where required.

Another component of the Dial Range Reserves walking track upgrade will be the new all-access boardwalk along McBrides Creek in the Ferndene State Reserve.  Progress is continuing on this component, with all aspects of the project set to be completed by 2028.

This new circuit walk will improve the visitor experience and showcase the panoramic views of the area.
