Visitor access has been improved at an iconic North-West Coast destination following the completion of walking track upgrades at The Nut State Reserve.
The upgrades were designed to improve safety and accessibility, as well as improve site amenity.
Visitors will benefit from an all-access track that connects Godfreys Beach to The Nut. The track features handrails, widened paths and a more gradual slope to enhance accessibility for all users.
A new bench seat overlooking Godfreys Beach offers the perfect place to rest and admire the stunning views towards Highfield House and across Bass Strait. A sandstone obelisk has also been installed at the base of the Zig-Zag track.
Local company Phil Templeton Building Pty Ltd delivered the works.
The Nut walking track upgrades are part of a broader plan to enhance the visitor experience at the site.
Future work will include investigating the feasibility of a walking track connecting The Nut carpark to the Stanley wharf precinct and installing a new cantilevered viewing platform on The Nut.
