The public is invited to have their say on the draft Bay of Fires Masterplan, which sets out a roadmap for managing the area’s natural and cultural values for the next 15 years.
The draft plan was developed in collaboration with Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service and Break O’Day Council, following extensive community and stakeholder engagement in 2025.
The Plan aims to deliver a high-quality environmentally, economically and socially sustainable Bay of Fires experience for the next 15 years by:
Improving the visitor experience
Protecting and enhancing its natural environment and cultural values
Responding to the needs of the community and residents
The consultation period runs from 8 April – 29 May 2026.
A series of stakeholder and community engagement sessions will be delivered by consultants Hansen Partnership at the end of April.
The public is invited to attend the open community sessions on the following dates:
Binalong Bay community – Tuesday 21 April, from 5.30pm – 7pm at the Binalong Bay fire station.
Ansons Bay community – Wednesday 22 April, from 5.30pm – 7pm at the Ansons Bay fire station.
St Helens community – Thursday 23 April, from 5.30pm – 7.30pm at the St Helens Hall.
