Flinders Island campground facilities revitalised

Find out more

Visitors to Flinders Island can now enjoy upgraded facilities at three popular locations: Trousers Point Campground, North East River Day Use Area and Allports Campground and Day Use area.

The works improve the experience as visitors discover the area’s stunning coastline and help to protect our natural environment.

Improvements include:

  • upgraded campground facilities and day use areas
  • improved road access for recreational vehicles (RVs)
  • new tent and RV sites
  • upgraded beach access
  • vegetation protection fencing and drainage works

We worked with Flinders Island Council, Flinders Island Business Inc and the local community to identify the areas for upgrade.

Flinders Island has some of the most pristine landscapes and photogenic scenery in Tasmania. Providing sustainable access to these areas is important for driving the regional tourism economy on the island.

The works were completed by local business 2 Rhodes Transport in July 2025.
