Visitors will now benefit from the completion of a new Foreshore Shared Use Track across Mosquito Creek at Freycinet National Park.
The new shared use track provides a formal pedestrian and cyclist link between Coles Bay and the National Park, without the need to use Freycinet Drive. The track will complement the existing path constructed in 2019 from the Freycinet Visitor Centre to the Wineglass Bay trailhead.
The track was designed to avoid impacts to natural and cultural values and provides an enhanced visitor experience.
The track was completed by Tasmanian company, East Coast Constructions. Gravel sections and stone walling components of the track were completed by Hart Drystone, also a Tasmanian company.
The Australian Government, under the National Tourism Icons Program, provided $400,000 funding for this project.
