Plans for a new car park at Cape Bruny Lighthouse providing parking for about 26 vehicles in stage one, bays for buses and three disabled access spaces, are available to the public online.
Part of the Bruny Island Precinct Plan that also includes a new toilet block and enhanced wayfaring for the South Bruny National Park, the $800,000 car park will meet growing tourism demand and improve visitor safety at the popular attraction.
Located off Lighthouse Road it is ideally positioned within walking distance to the lighthouse and nearby tracks.
Construction is expected to begin in early 2020 with the assistance of the Department of State Growth. There will be minimal distruption to visitors and residents due to the location of the new car park.
