Enthusiast Business Licence

If you are a filmmaker or photographer and you intend to take pictures or film in Tasmania’s national parks or on reserve land and receive payment for the footage or images you publish on mediums, including social media channels, be it monetary or some other form of payment, you require a licence.

Payment can include endorsements, sponsorship, the provision of accommodation and travel, equipment and clothing.

An Enthusiast Business Licence is required for social media content creators, social influencer content, taking of video or photographs for library stock, creating images for publishing in books, creating images for display in galleries.

This licence is for individuals who operate small scale filming, hand held devices only, cameras, camera accessories and tripods.

An Enthusiast Business Licence contains the following elements:
  • ​Negligible impact on the land.

  • Drones not permitted.

  • Approval can be issued for up to 24 months.

  • Flexibility to visit any location that the public can access.

  • Public Liability Insurance not required.

  • Fees apply: $100.00 (GST inclusive)

Applications must be submitted a minimum of 7 business days prior to proposed dates.​
