Strategic plan maps future for the Parks and Wildlife Service

A new Strategic Plan for the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) has been released which outlines a vision for the future.

The plan provides clarity around the collective direction and priorities that are to be achieved within the Parks service in order to present, protect and manage the values of Tasmania's national parks and reserves, which are treasured by Tasmanians and visitors alike.

The plan aligns with the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment’s Corporate Plan, which ensures seamless consistency across the department.  Many of the strategies detailed in the plan were already incorporated into the PWS business planning process for 2018-19 and hence its starting date of 2018.

Importantly, the PWS vision and mission, along with the long-term goals and strategies outlined in the plan, provide a pathway to deliver the most important priorities in the lead up to the 50th anniversary of the PWS in 2021.
