Upgrading the Dip Falls viewing experience

14/03/2017

The visitor experience at Dip Falls in the State's North-West will soon be enhanced thanks to the construction of new stairs, allowing visitors to admire the spectacular view and natural wonder of the falls.

Ealier this year, the Parks and Wildlife Service called for tenders for the construction of stairs to access the viewing platform.

The $178,000 contract for the stair access has been awarded to a local Tasmanian firm, AJR Construct of Devonport.

A new viewing platform was built at the base of the falls in May last year, providing secure footing, a safer environment for people visiting the falls, and a spectacular aspect for all who venture to site, and this has directly led to an increase in visitor numbers to the area.

The new stairs will ensure that safer and easier access to the viewing area is maintained.

Work at the site will be undertaken from late March until the end of May 2017.
